Feb-28-02, 02:18 PM (EST) "Tile Generation" I am constructing a route that is about 180 miles long.
It has 435 tiles. After you generate the tiles and save
only about 1/2 the route has tiles generated. The rest is just
all white with blue sky. I re-constructed the route cutting it
in half about 220 tiles and no problem. Appears you can only construct about 120 miles at a time
and then merge the routes, unless I am missing some steps. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 02:33 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Tile Generation" I have no idea what the problem could have been, however, I have generated 1800 tiles at one time. So, I don't think there is a 120-tile limit.Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 05:13 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Tile Generation" LAST EDITED ON Feb-28-02 AT 05:21 PM (EST)Actually i had this Problem with an East Coast route im working on going from Philadelphia, Pa to Reading, Pa the tiles only went as far as about Hatfield, Pa and after that it's nothing but white it took me a while to figure it out i thought it was Something i was doing wrong but it appears to be a Bug in the editors it self... if you select a new Starting point in the affected Area the tiles are all there "For the entire Route" here is the Problem i was Experienxing the tiles in Green where Generated but in the Editor it self They didn't show, i Scrapped and Retried the Process several times until i finally figured out by accident (Tried a new Starting area) and in an instant the tiles where all there not just for half the route but for the entire routeMessage Areas - "Tile Generation" – image 1 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 09:39 PM (EST) 10. "RE: Tile Generation" Motley,
This has nothing to do with the thread's topic, but I'm curious about your work.....
Are you doing the old Phila & Reading line? This is my dream route. Unfortunately, I'm working way too many hours to even start. What plans do you have for it? What era will you model? As I said, just curious. Best wishes on your project. Hope you release it to the masses someday.

Feb-28-02, 06:13 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Tile Generation" I will have to try changing the starting point. I will reextract the original route and try changing the starting point from the middle to the end that whent all white.I am still experimenting with the DMM's. Looks like you have
to have all the dmm's for the entire route combined and run
it all at once or you wind up with torn tiles that can't be
fixed that I know of. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 07:24 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Tile Generation" Here is the Version of Demex im using i forget the actual dem count i used with this i think it's somewhere around 25 or so Dems but as you see it Covers the entire route without any problems and extracts it without any problems, the only problem is within the editor it self with the "White Tiles" but after Choosing a new starting point in the affected area the tiles appear again and are in there Demed StateThe Version of Demex im using right now is V1.00Message Areas - "Tile Generation" – image 2 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 07:44 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Tile Generation" One way of possibly correcting the white tiles that worked for me was to run SeamFil before DEMEXing the tiles and then running SeamFil again before changing the height as required with DEMEX v0.6. I have no clue why it worked or what it changed but I did notice that the vertical west wall of the white tiles disappeared after running SeamFil before running DEMEX.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-28-02, 10:11 PM (EST) 11. "Works for me!" I just starting playing with the Route Editor a couple weeks ago after avoiding the thing for a long time and had this same white tile problem. Motley's solution worked for me, I now have green tiles all the way from Jacksonville to Waycross. Used to be I got within 30 miles of Waycross and nothing but white, changed start tile tonight to a point just into the white tiles from where I left off, and everything's green! Now if I could just figure out why I have a Marias Pass uncoupling problem at 3 (and only 3) of the seven crossovers on the route so far. No dynamic track anywhere around, no grade (it's North Florida on the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp), and the same switch configuration works fine on the other crossovers. Increased coupler break value barely gets me through, but now that I've got all my tiles, I'm ready to lay track from Folkston (where I'll be watching real trains for 24 hours Friday and Saturday--expect to see 50 to 60) northwest on the CSX Jesup sub to Waycross. Mar-01-02, 08:50 AM (EST) 12. "RE: Works for me!" it is strange but as we all know Microsoft doesn't support the editors i have even email Microsoft with the "White Tile Problem Question" and the answer i got was there working on it.... over 2 months ago haven't heard anything since ... but it does seem to be more or less a bug within the editorBob...
