Just wanted to drop a line in here and let those interested know what's going on with the GM&O.Lawrence, Trouble, and myself are working every day on the new GM&O WESTERN DIVISION. Lawrence tells me today that from the double track north of Springfield to several miles west of town on the AIRLINE has track on it now...and progressing towards Roodhouse. This includes Ridgely Yard.Lawrence tells me of many possibilities for others to build on other railroads in the Springfield area and interchanging with the GM&O, so all you Wabash, C&NW, IC, CB&Q, C&IM and ITRR fans...get ready..we will all be interchanging at Springfield, Ill.Thanks everyone...We'll let everyone know when the first installation is ready.Paul Fowler k0iri@aol.com

Feb-25-02, 05:50 PM (EST) 1. "RE: GM&O WESTERN DIVISION UPDATE" Great to here your doing this route!!! Are you going to extend the route into St. louis when you get down to Roodhouse??? If I am correct the KCS mainline merges with the old GM&O for the rest of the trip into St. Louis. If you would like any info on the GM&O in the St. Louis area just let me know.

Feb-25-02, 08:51 PM (EST) 2. "RE: GM&O WESTERN DIVISION UPDATE" Hi Jae.We are working on the west end first. I'm not sure just yet if Lawrence wants to extend to Godfrey from Roodhouse. We have briefly discussed this..but our first priority is west to KC.Thank you for your generous offer to assist. The only thing I can think of is photos of old depots along the line south out of Roodhouse...White Hall, Carrollton, Jerseyville, and everything in betweenI have all the track profiles for the whole ICG system, and Lawrence has most of the topos, so unless you have photos, I think we are ok for now.How's the WABASH coming along....have you heard anything else?I can help between Hull, Illinois and Carollton, MO. at WB JCT.

Glad to hear it is coming along. I might have some photos in and around Sprinfield if you need something let me know. I have some photos of the C&IM/GM&O crossing and tower..

"RE: GM&O WESTERN DIVISION UPDATE" Hi again Rick.Thanks for your correction...I had completely forgot about the B&O.Yes..if you would, I'd like those tower and diamond shots you have of the C&IM. Lawrence has just sent me a couple of shots of Ridgely Yard and the diamond in the sim as it stands now..and I know when the route is released, you'll be thrilled! He has done the yard and mains with the angled C&IM crossing just perfect!..I can't wait to see the 2 main Springfield towers on the GM&O done and trackside objects placed..Lawrence has also done a great looking AIRLINE HWY 36 overpass!The way things are looking right now..we will release the first part of the route from one mile north of the double track end at Ridgely, Ill. to Roodhouse, Ill.
