Trying to change signals can get you in a lot of trouble, but it can be done. I wouldn't try changing the downloaded route though. Start by copying the entire route to a temp directory. Rename the route folder in the temp directory, and copy it back to the "routes" folder. Don't mess with the original route. Test the newly named route and make sure it's ok.When you are deleting sigs to replace them with other sig types, shut the route editor down often. We get the "black screen" or "flickering" as an indication that we are running out of memory when doing normal route building, but editing track or road related dynamic objects apparently runs the computer out of memory quicker than building. ( I don't think that anyone knows for sure that this is what's happening, but that seems to be the consensus. ) You usually will not get an indication that you may be getting into trouble when editing these objects.I always shutdown and restart the route editor before I start to delete dynamic objects, do a few deletions, Shutdown and restart the editor, and then add the new objects ( sigs in your case ).
How often you shutdown is dependant on the amount of ram that you have, and how much the world tiles are loading into ram in the areas that you are working in.Always backup the route right before doing this kind of editing. Test the route after editing it, and back it up again if the testing is succesful. Hope this helps ... oboe Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
