Feb-18-02, 01:45 PM (EST) "Missing objects...an update" In my first post I explained how objects I placed around the terrain and track in the route editor did not show up when I brought up MSTS to test the route. Due to the route editor erring out when I tried to save, I was dumped back to the desk top with the "Send/Don't Send" message. Needless to say I lost the route. I extracted a new route and used the startup shape/texture/.ref files plus a few that I had down loaded. All the shapes that I had down loaded worked fine as did most of the stock shapes. There were 1 or 2 that did not work. Again, all the shape, texture files and the .ref doc were correct. I then tried picking out several shapes and copying them into my route folders. In looking for all the parts of these, I found some with no matching .ace files, some that had only the .s (no .sd) file and so non. Again some of the shapes I did copy worked and some didn't. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else come up with a similar problem? Please, let me know. The Fangman is bewildered! Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Look for work by sniper and Dick van Den Hoven that combines all the objects from all the routes. Also look in the file library for their programs to do this.David Klemm

An example; The double train shed (JP2whatever) that Sniper (and others) uses in his PO&N4 & 5 can be selected and place in the route editor, but is missing when I go to play the route in MSTS.

Feb-18-02, 11:25 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Missing objects...an update" Well, you were right. Earlier this afternoon I re-installed a fresh copy of MSTS. The only thing other than what came with the program was my route. Alas, the same results. All program settings were default. As per your suggestion, I just went into the advanced options page and run every slider to the max. Like I said, you were right...thank you, thank you, thank you.
