When you I open the .zip archive for a windmill object I see the following files
readme.txt
wind.s
wind.sd
wind.ace
insert.txtWhich i want to place in the Hoogdam route
Unzip everything to a temporary folder.
copy the .s & .sd files to .....Trainsim/routes/Hoogdam/shapes
Copy the .ace file to ..........Trainsim/routes/Hoogdam/texturesNow, open the insert.txt( more often this text insert is in the readme file) file in wordpad and you get a short text file as follows
Static (
FileName ( wind.s )
Class ( "Clutter" )
Align ( None )
Description ( windmill )
)Highlight all this text, (including the final bracket) and copy it to the clipboard. Use copy from the edit menu or use a keyboard shortcut <ctrl-c>.In the route folder look for a .ref file ( in my case its called hoogdam.ref). Back it up( save a copy somewhere safe) Openthe .ref file in wordpad. Scroll down to the very and of the file, make sure the cursor is on a blank line, then paste the entry you have copied from the clipboard to the bottom of the file either using the edit menu or the keyboard shortcut <ctrl-v>. Then use file save.
The last few lines of the ref file updated with the new object now look like this with your new object added:Static (
FileName ( US2WatParkBuild.s )
Shadow ( RECT )
Class ( "Buildings" )
Align ( None )
Description ( US2WatParkBuild )
)
Static (
FileName ( US2Woodbuild.s )
Shadow ( RECT )
Class ( "Buildings" )
Align ( None )
Description ( US2Woodbuild )
)
Static (
FileName ( wind.s )
Class ( "Clutter" )
Align ( None )
Description ( windmill )
)When I open up the hoogdam route next in the route editor I will find the new object "windmill" available for use under the heading "clutter"Have fun!
-John
