Feb-15-02, 11:57 PM (EST) "New Buildings" I am designing some new buildings and since I plan to post these files - since I have downloaded a few of the ones others posted -I would like to know what kind of designs people want. Since I need them I was going to do my high rises and office blocks first. I am doing an urban route in NJ and I think the skyscrapers provided just stink. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-16-02, 10:03 AM (EST) 1. "RE: New Buildings" Appreciate the offer. Here's several ideas:
- brownstone/ greystone residential blocks (see Baltimore/ Chicago)
- large Victorian home(s), as seen across the US in both small and large cities - alternative Newport mansion. In some small railroad towns these were close to the tracks as they were "captains" homes (Ashland, VA)
- large brick free standing home as seen on farms in the Midwest, built in later 1800's
- a good old fashioned American strip mall
- kind of a strange one, but how about a golf course lot?
- older hotel, ala Waldorf, Palace styleJust ideas.the bobcat Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-16-02, 10:20 AM (EST) 2. "RE: New Buildings" I'm sure you've seen "Design preservation" models. It be nice to see some models of those buildings created. Most every model railroad has them, and they look really good.A new-modern gas station is needed also. How bout a Police station? Feb-16-02, 10:50 PM (EST) 4. "RE: New Buildings" RizzSince I do not have modeling program, I can only second the post above for the good old fashioned US strip mall. Doesn't have to be big since you simply join several together. Make sure if you one you make a separate back for the building since the railroads always are behind. Also a supermarket food store?
Also, how about the typical single family suburban home? With several large warehouse type buildings now out there, perhaps you could do these smaller, but equally important things! Thanks in advance for your effortsBob Staples Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
