Feb-05-02, 03:23 PM (EST) "Whats the deal with the CCC .bat??" When I try to run this, its asks if it is a file or target to a file or something like that and i click file, it copies about 200
files then asks again, i press f, its copies like 300 more, then it asks again and copies like 10 or so, then it just keeps asking
whats the deal. At one point when i press f it asks the same question over and over and i keep pressing f. Whats the deal here? Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-05-02, 05:09 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Whats the deal with the CCC .bat??" It would also be helpful (what IS "ccc.bat" anyway?) if you opened it in wordpad, copied a portion of the text, and pasted it into the thread so we could see what it looks like. For example, here's part of a bat file;call xcopy ..\usa2\TerrTex\us2farmland*.* .\Terrtex\ /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\carpark1.ace .\Terrtex\carpark1.ace /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\gndtex101.ACE .\Terrtex\gndtex101.ACE /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\wroad4lanecrossscrub512.ace .\Terrtex\wroad4lanecrossscrub512.ace /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\wroad4laneTscrub512.ace .\Terrtex\wroad4laneTscrub512.ace /sThat would be no good, since xcopy assumes when you're copying a single filename from multiple subdirectories (that may be why KUJU did the filenames that way) that the source name and the destination name(s) are the same, if you add the filename after the destination folder (.\Terrtex in this case) it wonders whether the last entry is a file or directory (folder). I don't know why it does that, since you would assume that the backslash (\) or the lack of a backslash at the end would tip it off, but for some reason they programmed it to ask. This syntax;call xcopy ..\usa2\TerrTex\us2farmland*.* .\Terrtex\ /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\carpark1.ace .\Terrtex\ /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\gndtex101.ACE .\Terrtex\ /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\wroad4lanecrossscrub512.ace .\Terrtex\ /s
call xcopy ..\usa1\TerrTex\wroad4laneTscrub512.ace .\Terrtex\ /ssince there's nothing after the last backslash (except the /s), would just copy the file in there with the same name. The /s afterwards tells it to hunt thru all the source subfolders for files with the same name, create the matching subfolders if they don't already exist, and copy the source filename to the destination, keeping the name the same. In that example, copy \usa1\TerrTex\carpark1.ace to .\TerrTex\carpark1.ace, and also \usa1\TerrTex\snow\carpark1.ace to .\TerrTex\snow\carpark1.ace, and it wont ask if carpark1.ace is a file or folder, since you didn't give a name for the destination it just assumes the same one you're copying from.If you want to change the filename without getting prompted for "file or folder?", there's possibly an xcopy32 switch that does that, but I haven't found it yet. So if I want to copy a file to a different name, I use copy instead of xcopy for that.call copy .\Terrtex\coal2.ace .\terrtex\snow\coal2.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4rkHsc.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4rkQsc.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4rock.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4scQrk.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4scrub.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\po4sndsc.ace
call copy ..\usa2\Terrtex\snow\us2pinkrock.ace .\Terrtex\snow\sand.aceToo lazy to make my own snow textures for my custom terrtex files, I just copy from one of their snow textures, creating a new file with a different name. If I used "xcopy" instead of "copy" for that, I would get the Windows Inquisition on each one. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-05-02, 08:57 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Whats the deal with the CCC .bat??" Man, you sure don't make it easy. The file is actually called "corpbuild.bat", not "CCC.bat". You Arkansassers sure talk funny.
The guy that made the route types funny too, made a bunch of syntax errors. Musta been taking les\*.*sons from me! I weeded out most of the errors so it works, I think there's still some in there tho, since the shape files and ace files don't always have the same name. Like the old bridge footings are oldfootings1.s and oldfootings1.sd for the shape, but Oldfooting1.ace (singular!) for the texture. Anyway, try this and see if it works;http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3c608d616e0107bf.zip
