Jan-31-02, 11:01 PM (EST) "Another funky bug...." Hi,
Just had an interesting thing happen. I bought a new hard drive that I installed as a slave to my existing hard drive. Existing hard drive works fine, I just bought the 2nd one to have more space. I move the entire MSTS directory to the new drive, then re-install MSTS over the old copy so that everything is recognized on the new drive. Even re-installed Sky Conductor and Xtracks. The interesting part is in 2 out of the 4 non-default routes I had. I have PO&N, Dave Klemm's IC Route, and 2 of my own routes in addition to the 6 default routes. In IC Route and one of my routes, NONE of the .RAW files from the /TILES folder survived the move. They just disappeared. All the .T files were there, but the .RAW files only were gone out of those 2 routes. Not a problem with IC Route, just reinstall...but I had to restore a backup to my own route which meant that some of my terrain was from a prior version. Not a biggie, but it was a pain in the arse nevertheless. It appears that everything else survived the move OK.Any ideas? I chalk this one up to Winblows 90-ate, not MSTS.Jeff "where oh where are my RAW files...." Leslie

Windows will stop copying if it runs into a file that is "in use" while doing the copy, and all files behind it will be uncopied.I ran into the same problem when I decided to dedicate a 40 gig drive strictly to MSTS. It copied OK after I manually shutdown everything except explorer and systray. I believe that the demo version of a firewall program I was using might of caused this problem, but I wasn't watching.oboe Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-01-02, 11:22 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Another funky bug...." This happend to me the last time I reinstalled MSTS in it's original home. The only non-default files that were a problem were the .raw files in my non-default routes (I only had 2, PON4 and my own, so it wasn't that big of a deal). All my add on locos, cars, objects, etc. were unharmed. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
