Jan-23-02, 03:09 PM (EST) "TRGD's First Route" Although no one usualy listens to my posts, I'll post any way. My first attempt at a route is the Denver and Rio Animas Western Railroad, a fictional railroad. It is a bridge route, like the E. Metro and the real D&RGW. I only have the first yard compleated. More posts soon.

Jan-23-02, 03:11 PM (EST) 1. "RE: TRGD's First Route" First of, in the form of teasing, of course no one "listens" to your posts. They posts are words, not sounds! Now, on a more serious vein, GREAT! Look forward to "hearing" more about it. Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-25-02, 09:54 PM (EST) 3. "RE: TRGD's First Route" Due to school work (I am a High School Freshman, I only have a couple miles. From the Rio Animas City Yard and station to the North Rio Animas City. Also there is a small branch line called the Willcox line (Named for my home town). My plans for the line include commuter, express, and freight(mining, lumber, manifest, and local) of corse these can change. The only thing that may not be defaut is the WP North Fork Bridge and the Three bay coal mine.
But first I need to know how to cut tunnels cause all I get is a piece of ground blocking the entrance. And second is how to change individual ground textures, I plan to use them from Tehachapi, PO&N, and East Metro, plus the defaults.
Oh yeah hows the D&RGW routes going, I need to know.
Also need a repainter to get the paint on the locomotives, wont be for a while. But It's Daylight styled with "lightning Stripes"

Jan-25-02, 10:08 PM (EST) 4. "RE: TRGD's First Route" What? What did he say??? Was someone talking? To make the tunnel hole, go to wireframe mode, and choose the circle cursor doohickey button for raising/lowering terrain. Point the cursor to a vertex within the tunnel entrance and hold the cursor there, hit the V key. Go back from wireframe mode and note the hole. Where the hole goes past the tunnel portal, you'll need to place a transfer down. To increase the transfer size, click on it and type in 31 or 21 or whatever you need. Remember you can rotate the transfer.Experiment a little and you'll get the idea pretty quick. It takes a few tunnels to get good at it. They are a whole lot easier to do than placing a bridge!Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-26-02, 04:43 AM (EST) 5. "RE: TRGD's First Route" If you have a lot of trees around the tunnel mouth, this helps to disguise the textures.

Jan-26-02, 06:25 PM (EST) 6. "RE: TRGD's First Route" I am also thinking of putting in Stret running, with the town's station in the middle of the town, in the road. This is Just a thought but the train would pull off the main road on to another, pull to another that has the station and turn again, I'll get a crude diagram.
