Jan-22-02, 07:11 AM (EST) "Route Editor Starting Point" Apologies if this has been pointed out before...If like me you are spending time doing a major edit at the far end of your route from the Route Editor's starting point, you can modify the starting point so that the Editor goes straight there at start up, rather than having to "fly" or jump to those infuriating longs and lats! When you finish a session and want to return there next time, make a note of the following from the Camera Window: Tile x, Tile z, x and zEach route has a myfile.trk file in the parent folder. Make a backup for safety then open it using Wordpad. About 10 lines from the end is a line "RouteStart ( Tilex Tilez x z )".Simply substitute your values and the Editor will start there each time.Alternatively, if you have a particularly long route, it may be worth substituting the mid-point values rather than one end.Best Wishes to all Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Route Editor Starting Point" yes, ive also found that this keeps the routes from getting corrupted too. usually if you start at one end and go all the way to the other the editor 'forgets' what you had on the starting tiles, causing all kinds of corrupt files and missing data, using the trk file and moving the start point to the place i want to work on seems ot keep this from happening tho.-Justin Cornell

Jan-22-02, 02:54 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Route Editor Starting Point" Open the geo extractor. File, select route. File, load quad tree. Zoom in, right click on the tile you want to start on, click on route editor start tile. If you get a message "route editor start tile updated", you're done. If you get "unable to find \myroute\myroute.trk", it's because this is the only thing that actually pays attention to the folder name. If you changed the folder name of the route for backup purposes (or whatever), all you need to do is change it back so it matches the name of the .trk file.
You can change the route editor start tile as many times as you want for the area you're currently working in, and rename the folder after that. Just change the folder name back to the original to update the start tile again. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
