Jan-16-02, 05:20 PM (EST) "IC Route Problem" I downloaded the IC Route versions 01a through 06, got everything installed and the route was working great. Today I start up the route and now I get the image below. . .Message Areas - "IC Route Problem" – image 1

Jan-16-02, 10:06 PM (EST) 1. "RE: IC Route Problem" think it was a .trk file that needs to be stolen from usa2 and placed on the other directory. Someone help us! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-16-02, 10:15 PM (EST) 2. "RE: IC Route Problem" No, I don't think you'd want to do that! This looks like you're missing a couple of .td files, which was one problem that occurred a long time ago with one of the updates, but was fixed. I think David (Klemm, the route designer who so far has released all of the updates to the IC route) had re-uploaded new .zip files for the route to ease installation, and might have forgotten to include these files again. I think that's what I read a couple of days ago elsewhere on the board. He should see this thread soon, and he usually responds to problems like this.Something in your wording just struck me, though. Had the route been running fine, and then all of a sudden, the ground disappeared? Or did it ever work right at all? Does it look like that all over, or just in certain areas (I'm sure the areas would be *large*)?troub

Jan-16-02, 11:20 PM (EST) 3. "RE: IC Route Problem" Looks like you are missing the TD files. They were missing in the original version 1, but were added in both version 1a and version 1b. That is what Trouble was talking about. Check your TD folder and see if you have any in there, or you may have old ones. New Ones were included in version .6, so use them. My guess is they were not put in when you installed version .6David Klemm

Jan-17-02, 08:47 AM (EST) 4. "RE: IC Route Problem" Thanks for your help. I will reinstall version 6 and try it again. I'm sure I did something that MSTS didn't like to cause this, not a problem with your route David! Sorry. The route was working fine before yesterday. The problem stays if you run the train further down. The terrain(?) never changes, but the track, bridges, etc. does as the train goes down the track. Sorry that I cannot explain it better than this to you, I'm getting way out of my league here.Right now I have only three files listed in the TD folder with the date of 11/22/01:-00023+00027.td
-00023+00028.td

Disappearing ground has always meant a TD file issue. Maybe you could put the tile and world files back in and see if that fixes it. Won't hurt anything unless you've added some scenery and that would be lost. Also, you say your south of Clinton towards Pana. That screenshot looks like your are just south of the Mattoon passneger station. I'll go there now and see what I see.Ches-c;I'm back from the route and the same spot in your photo. It has the ground! : ) I would try putting .6 back on and see if that fixes things.

Jan-17-02, 10:12 AM (EST) 6. "RE: IC Route Problem" I think it might have to do with getting them in synch, Dave. I just looked at my working copy of PO&N5, and there are two td files plus the dat file. The one td file never changes, but the dat file and the second td file is updated every time I edit the route. I think what happens is the \tiles files in the updates get pasted in with a td file set that's looking for the old \tiles files. Ground textures and elevation are in the *y.raw, and if those are missing or corrupted you'll get that effect in places, but not over the whole route. I wonder if the two being out of synch would cause that when the e.raw and n.raw files are re-generated? I'll have to fire up Doctor Frankenstein's laboratory and try that, paste in an old \td set with a later \tiles folder and delete e.raw and n.raw to see what happens when it generates the terrain buffers. Igor, my electrodes please! Ah, HA-HA-HA-HA! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-17-02, 04:32 PM (EST) 7. "RE: IC Route Problem" Well, I reloaded version 6 and it did help. The terrain showed up again at the area above, but I was still missing terrain on the other end of the route. I don't know what I did to your nice route, but I sure did it! I think it would be easier to reinstall your route from the start than to try to problem-solve this thing. Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions!Ches-C Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-17-02, 04:49 PM (EST) 8. "RE: IC Route Problem" Ches-cThe only thing affecting the viewing would be the folders tiles, world and TD So I wouldn't do a complete uninstall unless that is what you want to do! I'd just do these folders and then the root folder stuff from version .6.
