Jan-10-02, 04:06 AM (EST) "Logs" Sometime ago someone was making, or made, logs and stumps.
Were they uploaded and if not are they available from someone, I would love to have them for my NZ route.
A question for the experts, are all the tree objects available as forests and if not is it possible to make them forests?
Hope someone can help

Jan-10-02, 03:11 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Logs" Hmmm, no replies to this, hey? Probably because you worded the second question wrong. There ain't no "experts", at least nobody I would consisder one, and anybody claiming to have all this stuff figured out after only six months would have dubious credibility as an expert, in my book.
No log or stump objects that I've seen yet. I took some of the tree clumps, turned them upside down, and buried them mostly underground, but that's kind of clumsy and don't look that believable. By taking something like US2logdebris from the clutter section, rotating it to vertical, then doing the CTRL C and CTRL V thing with it, and lowering it into the ground part way you can make a believable field of stumps. If you want to try hacking a forest region for a new treestump shape, here's an old thread that has an example by a guy who I would consider an expert of sorts, due to the fact that he worked for Microsoft and at least understood the basic nature of this goofy editor;http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=1259&forum=DCForumID6&archive=yes#3And here's a link to a guy who's no expert, but a fairly good amateur hacker;http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/3058.htmlDownload the zip in that, there are something like 32 forest regions in the package. Jan-11-02, 01:13 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Logs" Thanks Jim,
Interesting dialog (excuse the pun) in the first thread and very useful, the second one is something I should have taken more notice of earlier when I saw it. Kinda was leaving it alone until finished by the expert amateur working on it, from somewhere up North in the USA I think.
I actually got a couple of e-mail replies to this and they were able to provide me with the objects and are looking at posting same at some time.
As usual I am impressed with the help gained through these forums.
