Jan-08-02, 02:13 AM (EST) "Cutbank bridge buff action is drastic" Has anyone noticed that after you do the set the coupler break to 5.1 and can take the Cutbank bridge, if you watch from above behind the engines there's massively violent lunging back and forth by the freight cars that would break a coupler, and for no apparent reason.Maybe the Marias 3 creator can isolate the cause?I went through there on v3.Of course, it's not his bug.Maybe tear out the bridge and adjoining track and put in another one?

People shouldn't be encouraged to randomly delete hidden objects from routes. They are there for a purpose and unless the collision properties are set to true (which would cause the entire train to wreck)they shouldn't cause any problems. For example several people have found and deleted hidden crossing gates on Marias Pass 3 just because they are on the tracks. The end result is that now cars will no longer stop for trains at these crossings. These objects never caused a derail problem but people figured just because they are there and they are hidden they should be removed. The uncoupling problem lies in the switches (of which there are two on the Cutbank bridge)and this must be fixed by Microsoft.I'm sure that the route developers out there don't want to have to start dealing with support headaches arising from people deleting stuff like this.Paul Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

>Really weird. It gets weirder Ed...I went into the global .SD files for the 10 degree switches and DELETED the ESD_BoundingBox parameter. That fixed the Marias coupler breaking. But wait...There's more...I added a bunch of miles in a parallel route to the Innsbruck Route and even with the modified .SD files, still see some slight bucking at a set of crossovers. Jeeze, this is frustrating. Someday we may solve this mystery.Vince

Jan-11-02, 09:14 AM (EST) 5. "RE: NOT the answer" I was having a similar problem desingning the switching yard for 30th Street Station on the Northeast Corridor route. Due to having a huge amount of tracks in the yard I tried to place some of the yard sound markers in the middle of the tracks to allow sound in the middle of the yard. The placement of the sound, as well as a couple of other errors, was causing the Train Simulator program to crash when I would start running my trains in reverse to run over the section of track that had the sound placed on it. It appears that any objects, including sound markers, can not be placed directly on the tracks. Part of my solution to get my trains running properly in the yard was to move the sound objects either to gaps between certain tracks in the yard or just on the edge of the yard trackside. Now my trains run great on the tracks in the 30th Street Station switching yard. Here is a screenshot of the switching yard looking south from just north of the 30th Street Station terminals. This is the part of this major terminal that Microsoft and Kuju forgot to include. I hope to upload it in a couple days for people to start creating switching activities while I continue the route further. Message Areas - "Cutbank bridge buff action is drastic" – image 1
