Jan-07-02, 12:52 PM (EST) "Lackawanna & Erie Lines" Hi,Was just curious if anyone was working on any of the Erie's, Lackwanna's or Erie Lackwanna Lines?i.e., Lackwanna Cutoff, Erie Bergen Cty Line? I was thinking of starting one of these, but was curious if someone has already started to do so. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-09-02, 00:01 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Lackawanna & Erie Lines" Hi,
The Erie used to have a line through Akron, Ohio that is part of the route I'm modelling. The Phoebe Snow used to run through here. Most of the old Erie track is now removed or unused, but I'm modelling the 60's-70's so I can have the Erie running.Jeff Leslie

Jan-09-02, 11:35 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Lackawanna & Erie Lines" Hi,
My route will be a work in progress for some time to come, there is way too much track around here for me to be done soon. I will have to release it in stages much like David Klemm's IC route. I will post to the forum when I am ready to go with it so I can get a feel as to whether or not I should upload it here. The Erie portion of my route is a mainline running through, a decent size yard and interchange and some industrial trackage. The nice thing about Akron though is that back in the 60's there was not only Erie, but PRR, AC&Y, A&BB, and B&O that all had interchanges with each other to serve the rubber industry here. With that I will have lots of options for modelling. I just found out doing research recently that the Phoebe Snow had Akron on her list. So did the Capitol Limited (B&O), in fact that was the last passenger train to run through here when Amtrak was formed until 1990 when Amtrak re-routed and made Akron a stop once more.
I will try to get a screenshot of the track diagram up soon.Jeff Leslie

Jan-09-02, 10:31 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Lackawanna & Erie Lines" I am working on 2 lines. 1) Erie Lackawanna's Mahoning Division, First Subdivision. Leavittsburg, OH to Cleveland, OH. 2) Fictional Erie Lackawanna route from Chicago to KC. I am going to do this in sections. I am currently looking for track diagrams for these routes for best possible realism.Mike Riley Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
