Dec-30-01, 01:59 PM (EST) "Route ready for beta testing" My new route is ready for beta testing and I would welcome any feedback on it. It is available for downloading at:
http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mikehill/msts_rt1.htmlOnce I'm sure the basic trackwork and terrain are OK I will move on to adding all the objects (probably from the Innsbruck - St Anton route). The route is public domain and anyone is welcome to modify, change or adapt it as they want.I would really welcome some feedback either via the Forum or directly.Mike

Jan-04-02, 10:15 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Route ready for beta testing" Xerxes,Did you have to create an activity for it to work in Route Control? In about a minute and a half I had it downloaded, dropped it into Route Control, and driving in Train Sim but I didn't have to create an activity...Jak Fearon

>Well, I guess I misspoke myself. I installed two routes that day and one I had to create an activity and the other worked just fine. Silly me, I mixed them up.

"RE: Route ready for beta testing" Hey, I downloaded the track and followed the readme word by word and it appears in activity editor, but when I try to open it, it says,"Cannot find track database." How can you get it to work?Nick Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-04-02, 01:38 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Route ready for beta testing" Gee, I'm not too sure what the problem(s) could be. I've had a couple of people (off the Forum) have a look at it and they haven't reported any install problems... maybe they were just being kind..))If anyone can help me to present it better by suggesting how or if I should modify the original file that would really be appreciated.I've moved on to the next stage by transferring over all the St Anton - Innsbruck objects and have started adding stations and buildings, but this version won't be ready for a while yet. Interesting challenges, but good fun.Mike

Jan-04-02, 11:44 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Route ready for beta testing" Some comments for what it's worth.
Downloaded and installed with no problems, a good start for a novice like me.
Straight into explore with no problems, no need to make an activity.
Not very far through yet but noticed a few places around points where the train jumped about a bit.
Would like to see bridges and tunnels and some grades to make it more interesting, I apologise if they are further on than where I am up to in explore to date.
Looking good, keep it going.

Jan-07-02, 01:38 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Route ready for beta testing" LAST EDITED ON Jan-07-02 AT 01:41 PM (EST)It may help if I say that the `Activity' is nothing more than a couple of standard MSTS engines pointing in the right direction. Use the `Explore Route' and you can roam the whole network without restriction.I have started adding objects (from the St Anton - Innsbruck route) which is very satisfying. Will need to change some track to better fit the stations - but nothing major.Mike

http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mikehill/msts_rt1.htmlPS Thankyou for the feedback so far, that has really helped. Yes, I will try and make some gradients and bridges etc, but I wanted the layout to be `right' first. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-08-02, 03:44 AM (EST) 10. "RE: Route ready for beta testing" Downloaded, installed, and explored No worriesGreat start, good potential Yeah could do with some bridges and a larger yard or two but this is a good start hows about hanging some branches off to explore (I'm a bit of a fan of the complex routes) keep it up dude will keep checking back and give you a progress report when you've updated Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
