Dec-23-01, 10:45 PM (EST) "NJ TRANSIT on the Hoboken Shore Route" LAST EDITED ON Dec-23-01 AT 10:45 PM (EST)Here are some photos I took on the new Hoboken Shore route. This is the afternoon commuter lineup at NJ TRANSIT's Hoboken Terminal. On the far track, a NJ TRANSIT FP45 waits with ex-Santa Fe streamlined cars. On the next track, F7A 417 waits with former Lackawanna MU cars. The next track has a NJDOT GP7P with more Santa Fe cars. The next track has a F45PH-2 with HEP'd ex-Santa Fe cars painted in NJT's disco stripe scheme, and finally NJT GP7P 5902 with de-motored Lackawanna MUs.
Here is a head on view of the lineup.
Close-up of 5902
Here, NJ TRANSIT F45PH-2 4195 slowly creeps downgrade the connector from the DL&W Main to the Erie.
Finally, NJT F7A 420 accelerates out of the former CNJ Terminal in Jersey City, with the World Trade Center and Empire State Building rising out of the Manhattan skyline. Riding in comfort are commuters in former Santa Fe "El Capitan" cars.
Of course, most of this is entirely fictional because of the lack of available equipment, but NJT did run the Santa Fe cars with GP7Ps, and demotored ELMUs with F7s - so it's close!Enocell, thanks for the great route!!! Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
