Dec-19-01, 06:33 PM (EST) "Pennsy 1943" The fate of the war yet unknown, and the railoads were in their finest hour transporting men and troops across the country to destinations overseas. The Pennsylvania railroad despite owning only 5% of the nations rails would account for 18% of all tonnage hauled durring the war years. Carrying coal, coke, iron, and steel across the "Broadway of Steel" feeding the industrial might of the arsenal of democracy. For one man the Pennsy's route from Chicago to New York would be too much, but I am proposing that various Pennsy steam-era modelers join forces and tackle various subdivisions independantly. With route control we can now have several extra routes without consuming gigabytes of disk space. Mapping out the various route sections by crew change, activities could then be done from one crew change spot to another. Is anyone else interested in joining in on such a project. Also is there anybody in Pennsylavania that would be interested in doing some photography work for me at a later date. I live in California and a trip to PA would be a little over my budget. The voice of insanity in a seemingly normal world. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-20-01, 00:13 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Pennsy 1943" What era are you guys setting your route up for. I definately want one with water towers. Currently I am not working with making a route but I am working on making some steamers, also I will probably work with making buildings. I also would like to make some models of flats with loads like Sherman Tanks, M8 scout cars, M3 halftracks, jeeps, Higgens boats, maybe even P-51 parts, plus some troop carsThe voice of insanity in a seemingly normal world. Dec-20-01, 01:13 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Pennsy 1943" im getting Train Sim Modeler tomorrow via download so im hoping my self to make buildings, as for an Era im undecided for now, but im starting to lay track and on the other hand im Pretty interested in the reading railroad and the Former Waterfront of Philadelphia "Where i live" which was a Pretty big yard as well as Piers "Granted there either Burned out now or torn down. so as for track i really don't know how it was laid out but i do know the Locations such as the old Coal Pier and other land marks that do not exist anymorebut as for now i chose my Starting point at around 30th Street station in Philadelphia im planning on taking the NEC to Trenton or a little further, and the reading railroad from the waterfront to Bethlehem Pa (Same route if anyone is wondering)if i do release this route it'll more then likely be a Developers route since im very unsure of the nature of the track on the reading railroad "Which the exceptions of the reading railroad between Lansdale and Sellersvile pa "Walked it" Passenger Stations and all are still there just unused "Septa stooped service soon after they took over the Regional rail service Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
