Dec-19-01, 03:56 AM (EST) "New track sections - XTracks v1 released" You can now download the track sections from the file library. Please read the included instructions as there is some manual work you need to do (copy & rename some files to keep the download size down).
All sections mentioned in the beta-2 is included. Section indexes are unchanged from beta-2 but I've done some tweaking of the visual shapes, narrow gauge looks better now i think.
I want to thank the beta testers for their help.
Now lets see some routes with these track sections.

Dec-19-01, 06:41 PM (EST) 1. "RE: New track sections - XTracks v1 released" I downloaded your track pack, installed it, and tried out new sections but the scissor points don't work. Trains can run on the straight parts fine but you try to run the train on the curved parts, the train "derails" at where the rails cross in the center of the double-crossover. I went crazy trying to create new scissor points that have the curved parts cut back so that I can insert short straight track sections made from dynamic track sections at where the rails cross in the center because I can't find the exact radius of curved track. I know that the radius of curved track for 10 degrees points is 164.0639 meters but it won't fit on the scissor points with part of the curved track cut back a meter and have 10 degrees of arc. It could be an issue with in which order you place the switches. Try putting out both left hand switches first then both right hand (or the other way around). I did not use any dynamic or other pieces to get them to work.

your tsection file overwrites the maglev tracks ...so installed yours first then the meglev and no more problem will try laying some thracks this weekend on my test route buy the way got error that the round table texture files were not loaded in the install and didnt see them in the files

Dec-20-01, 04:07 AM (EST) 4. "RE: New track sections - XTracks v1 released" The Maglev tracks are not yet compatible with this track pack. I'm in contact with Craig and hope we'll get it sorted. His tracks are in a beta phase at the moment.
Concerning the textures I repeat READ THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS and you will learn to copy them from the Marias route. Had I included them it would have been an additional 4 MB in download and I don't think that's worth it when you already have the textures.

Just one question: The readme doesn't say much what exactly will happen when I run the exe-file. Will it install straight away or do I get some options? Dec-20-01, 07:27 AM (EST) 6. "RE: New track sections - XTracks v1 released" It overwrites your existing tsection.dat, that's why I advice you to make a backup before installing. There are no options in the installation only install or not.
You will have to change your 250 meter curves in the world files I think, the id's used in this package are:
241 : a1t250r10d - 250M 10 degree
242 : a1t250r20d - 250M 20 degree
243 : a1t250r5d - 250M 5 degreeIf you have other id's you need to change those in the tiles or you will have a very strange route the next time you rebuild you track database. Visually it will be ok but the logical path that the sim will follow will be wrong and the train will de-rail. Mail me if you need help, I think you can search the unicode text files on disk from inside MS Word to find out which files needs to be updated.
