Dec-16-01, 08:27 PM (EST) "Starting a DEM download site list" I have had a heck of a time with the GISDATADEPOT site and I wanted to start a list for future designers (and me) of the best places to download DEM data from. And if I could ask one more favor... instead of posting just www.mapmart.com how about being more specific in the place you can actually download the dem's from. Thanks you a ton.
Nick

"RE: Starting a DEM download site list" WestSlopeRRfan,Mapmart as far as i know is a new site, but from my Experience of downloading off that site it is Much faster then Gisdatadepot, and easier to figure out what you need (i.e. Shows you an Actual map of the area of Interest which i find to be very Useful as well as helpfulHope this helps

Dec-17-01, 11:57 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Starting a DEM download site list" I used mapmart over the weekend. It is in my opinion great if you want DEM data and have no idea what you need (what areas). I just started a second route that is fictional that is using the DEM data going from Chicago to Ft. Madison. Since I am not familiar with the Counties, etc. Mapmart helps a lot. As stated on other posts in the thread. Click begin ordering and then left click on the names on the map of the data you want. After you click on the section or region you want you will see a check mark on the map and a check box and the name of the region on the left side. It does help when they show the towns, cities that are included.Mike Riley Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
