Dec-14-01, 05:30 PM (EST) "Help please - broken point..." LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-01 AT 06:05 PM (EST)Well my route has developed to the phase where it's generating errors in operation. My route has several loops, but they have not created problems in the past. I have noticed that in the operation of the simulator, that throwing a particuliar switch locks the game. For testing, I removed that switch and replaced it with track to complete the major line thinking that I had a closed loop problem. Now however, I get reverse points in my loops where they were work fine before. I right clicked the reverse point had one of the options as a broken point.Could someone give me a better idea of what type of track characteristics I should be looking for to correct this problem. I searched 'broken point' and found some information, but hope someone else has a microscopic knowlegde of this subject. Thanks in advance.Boomer Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

By changing or replacing the switch, player or traffic trains paths going through switch are now broken. See, the activity stores the path for a player or ai train in the paths folder. You change something in the route editor and these paths get loaded up and can't find the changed path point, so you get a broken path.Fixing a broken path is fairly simple, but if you got reversing points in that path, you might as well reconstruct the path all over again. The best way to learn how to fix broken paths is to get the Abacus Activity Editor Tutorial. It takes a couple of pages to explain the process. The gist is you can drag the red broken line to the next path point, and to the next until you got a clean path again.Hope this helps!Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

BTW, I found a undocumented method (at least to me)to adjust the slope of the track sections. I'll describe this in a separate post.Boomer Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
