Dec-14-01, 05:05 PM (EST) "A question for JohnCS" Regarding the .XYZ files DEM-EX uses. Are the X and Y values absolute or relative. Is the sequence of X and Y values important or does it just add a Z value to X and Y coordinatesI'm wondering about merging .XYZ files rather than merging DEMs. As I don't see Microdem going up to 25K or so rows and columns anytime soon it would just be easier to deal with a 1 Gbyte .XYZ file. I'm also considering overlapping 10 and 30 Meter merged DEMs to eliminate the terrain breaks where the two currently come together but it sure wouldn't work if the X and Y values aren't absolute/interchangable.Any input is appreciated.Richard Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 09:01 PM (EST) 1. "RE: A question for JohnCS" The first 2 rows of XYZ data must be ascending order (this is how it determines the grid spacing). After that DEM-Ex doesn't care.Points can be at any spacing (10m, 30m, 3.14159m), however they must ALL be at the same spacing. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 09:25 PM (EST) 2. "RE: A question for JohnCS" Super! Thanks. I'm gonna try it with one of Microdem's interpolated 30 -> 10 meter DEMs partially overlaid over a "native" 10 meter DEM.Richard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
