Dec-14-01, 00:58 AM (EST) "Wye Problems, Wye, Wye, Wye.." LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-01 AT 01:02 AM (EST)LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-01 AT 01:01 AM (EST)Would someone be kind enough to let me know why when I put in a wye, I use a piece of Dynamic Track why I can not get the circuit to complete, I can align the track and it looks like it sitting together but when I run the engine over it it derails. The rest of the tracks snap together but not the Dynamic section. I can go around the other way to get thru, by passing the switch, going to the next and then backing up down the other switch, but if I go to cross the dynamic section forwards or backward its no go. It is just where the Dynamic section is. Can someone please explain this? Thank You, KMJ () I also noticed that you can lay a section of track across another section and you do not have any problems with it but some have loops in their routes, what's the secret to this in getting them to work...CHUG-OOOOON () Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 01:19 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Wye Problems, Wye, Wye, Wye.." in the Editor are there Blue lines on the Dynamic track? if there are any blue lines it's derail... and also Dynamic track can be very very tricky what are you trying to do with the Why and Dynamic track? you may be able to get away with Using the A1EndPnt10dRgt and or the A1EndPnt10dRgtHope this is of any kind of helpBob Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 03:22 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Wye Problems, Wye, Wye, Wye.." Well in my experience they can be made very nicely. However, it a time consuming task. My route has several (4 right now) each different, thus they are custom for each location (no simple formula to follow). I use a lot of Dynamic curves and like to have the elevations on the same plane (no incline or decline of track if possilbe). It takes me many interations of trying the dynamic curve to the matching track before I am happy with the wye. I check everything visually before I test the section of track with an activity. When I say I visually check, I mean I visually inspect for proper alignment of the tracks both above and to side for elevation matching.I wish I had a formula to provide to help you. Which gives me an idea. I image I could set up my CAD program to assist generating the specs required for the wye's on my route. I'll test one to see how it works. Already I can think of one problem with that method. It is very difficult to get accurate measurements from/to RE and thus using the CAD program would help me get in the 'ball park', I would still have to tweak the value(s) of the dynamic curve(s).I got off track a little. Anyway I know your pain, but wye's can made successfully with patience.Boomer Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 10:15 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Wye Problems, Wye, Wye, Wye.." Well, wye not? How to use dynamic track is pretty much the same as the old joke about how to get to Carnegie Hall - practice, practice, practice. here's a couple threads you might want to look at, and make sure you select view, track DB lines so you can see those little blue poles sticking up. If you unselect a track piece (click on terrain or empty sky), and the blue line is still sticking up in the middle of the track, that's a derail point, not a valid track join, not lined up properly. The only place you should see a blue line is at the bitter end of a dead end spur.http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/1877.html

Dec-14-01, 10:03 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Wye Problems, Wye, Wye, Wye.." WYE, WYE, WYE? Because we like to!!!!Thank You everyone for the help.. The problem was...I just had to play with it a little more, tricky little bugger it is..listened to what you said, read what you said, did what you said, low and behold it worked....I just could not get those BLUE POLES to go away..No blue poles, No blue poles, that should be the motto for MSTS. Now I can turn the Train around...Thank You and CHUG-ON. KMJ () Now about those loops? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
