Dec-14-01, 00:30 AM (EST) "Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" I needed to go cruising tonight and found myself taking some snapshots of various places along the Bodiddly RR. Message Areas - "Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" – image 1None of these places have names yet, but that's the oil refinery/storage in the background. You're looking from across the river towards Afton (I believe). Message Areas - "Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" – image 2I dropped the pictures on the way in here and I got them out of order. This pic and the next pic are a little ways before the very first pic. Dec-14-01, 08:16 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" It's just in development and it's got a long ways to go. When I have time to put into it, I am able to go pretty quick. The second time around is a whole lot easier than the first time around. All these pics are relatively in the same area of the route.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

We need more screenshots, a section to show off our layouts. Like Model Railroader's "Trackside Photos".Thanks for sharing a peek! Happy Holidays!Tim Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-14-01, 08:35 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" Rich,Your route is looking good. I have a couple of route design questions for you or anyone else.1. which bridge is that in your last picture.
2. what has your experience been laying roads. I have been reading Mr. Vones Guide and it pretty much states that you should lay all of your track first before putting in roads. What has your experience been? The reason I ask is that I am working my route in three stages and would not like to wait until next summer to add roads. Thanks for the Metro!

Dec-14-01, 08:52 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Some new pics of Bodiddly RR" Heya Brian,The answer to your first question is WP North Fork Bridge by Bjorn Centergran. It's available in the files download area, not sure which area though. On the second question. Typically I lay down track first. I'll go a ways and then I go back and fill in the detail. I think the biggest thing to stay away from is anything that goes onto the track directly like siding and platform markers, crossings, etc. And definetely signals are last. Mileposts I haven't tried but I've heard them crashing a route so I would wait til last on them too.I think the reason for this is your building an extensive database, but its not all in the same file. So the way I approach is to build the foundation of the route (i.e. your scenery and track), and then add the embellishments once everything is in place. The biggest safety tip is never leave a object selected while you save. Look at the sky when saving.Hope this helps. Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

It'll need an official name by then though... hopefully we'll get Alan's blessings on using the V&O.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

A similar looking 2-6-0 should appear next week I think.
