Dec-13-01, 10:10 PM (EST) "Sample Track Section" I ran MSTS and chose my subway route. I moved the subway train until it is on a straight piece of track. I pressed the "6" key to get the coupler view. I pressed Control and down arrow keys to "zoom" in to the track. I pressed "Print Screen" key to create a screen shot. I exited MSTS and ran Paint Shop Pro. I copied the screen shot to a new image. I loaded ACLEANTRACK1.BMP file into the program. I moved the image windows so that I can see both images. I edited the screen shot so that the ties in the screen shot are the same size as the ties in the ACLEANTRACK1.BMP file and centered the track in the screen shot. I saved the screen shot as 512 X 512 bitmap. I ran 3D Canvas Pro and created a 5-meter track section. I applied the bitmap to the track section. I exported the track section to MSTS shape file and converted the bitmap to ACE file. I ran Route Editor and laid the track sections on the ground. In the screen shot below, the track sections near you are the ones that I created and the track sections away from you are the 10-meter track sections that came with MSTS. Jeffrey.

Dec-14-01, 06:37 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Sample Track Section" I think that the new trackbed image needs to be "fine-tuned" before I can get it to match the original trackbed image that came with MSTS. I tried to use the original trackbed image on new track sections that I created using 3D Canvas Pro but the the trackbed is offset to left and there is transparent area down the middle of right side. The ties are wooden, not concrete. The ties in the new image appear a little bit brighter than the ties in the original image. I also found out that 3D Canvas Pro and Train Sim Modeler don't create MSTS shape files exactly the same way. Jeffrey. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
