"RE: China DEMs" Don't know if you looked at gisdatadepot, but at the below link they have DTED0 data, kind of nasty stuff when you consider what we have been working with. But it's there.http://www.gisdatadepot.com/catalog/CH/group121.htmlLawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-12-01, 05:37 PM (EST) 2. "RE: China DEMs" Here's another which uses GTOPO30 format, which I believe is the format that TSTools reads.http://edcdaac.usgs.gov/gtopo30/gtopo30.htmlLawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-12-01, 08:15 PM (EST) 4. "RE: China DEMs" Lawrence thought that TsTools reads GTOPO30 only because I couldn't remember when he asked me and I told him I thought that was it!If you see my other post about TsTools and DEM data, theres a link to the GLOBE data - which is only 30 arcsec resolution, but it does cover the entire planet. Why oh why can't there be just one standard? By the time you read and digest the file formats, you've forgotten what you wanted to do with the stuff in the first place. And the SDTS format description comes in four volumes!sorry - rant over. isn't there someone around here who's dad invented the earth's topography?cheersDave C. Dec-12-01, 08:28 PM (EST) 5. "RE: China DEMs" LAST EDITED ON Dec-12-01 AT 08:34 PM (EST)From what I have read, GTOPO30 *is* GLOBE data. GTOPO30 means Globe 30 Arc Second Elevation Data. This is from the USGS, National Mapping Division, EROS Data Center.See: http://edcdaac.usgs.gov/gtopo30/gtopo30.html and Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-13-01, 07:42 AM (EST) 8. "RE: China DEMs" i did. it didn't help. i wake up and theres still no ideal world, no universal dem format. just think, if the world was flat we'd have nothing to talk about. ;)DC Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
