Dec-10-01, 10:10 PM (EST) "Please help. Having trouble with the Hjorring-Aalborg route and have run out of ideas." Hi all. I have tried everything in my power to get this route up for a friend. when you move the mouse over it in the main screen it locks up before you even get to click on it. he sent me the paths, activities, service, traffic, .ace, .trk, .ref, etc. all files except shapes, terrtex, texture files. he ran the batch for the shapes tried uninstalling then reinstalling, redownloading but nothing works. when he sent the files to me I noticed the paths and activity names for them didn't match. in other words he sent the files and the activities. I'll use only one activity for a starting point of what i'm trying to say. the hjorring-aalborg 1545 activity file had a y instead of an o in it. the matching path hjorring aalbor 1545 had an o not a y in it. I changed the files to match and nada. still froze. I know that this was the path as it is the only file named hjorring aalborg 1545. please help if you can. i'm the type that doesn't stop till I get it right and i've been trying since thursday with no luck. its driving me nuts. all help will be credited to you and all help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. Dec-11-01, 10:55 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Please help. Having trouble with the Hjorring-Aalborg route and have run out of ideas." My process for loading ANY route, for what it's worth.........1. De-Zip to a Temp directory, NOT to MSTS.
2. Remove all Activities and Services from their folders.
3. Copy across to MSTS.
4. Run a batch file to load over MSTS route textures (I use Jim Ward's)
5. Load in any extra or revised textures/shapes.
6. Load to ROUTE EDITOR, using this to show up any missing files, note names, answer Yes for each one listed. Don't SAVE the route!
7. Find and install missing files.
8. Go to the Activity Editor, and make a simple activity using a consist you KNOW works.
9. Load MSTS and test.After that you are free to add the activities, etc, if you are sure you have the items needed.This way you can see which files you need, and kill the route easily if it looks poor in the RE without getting into consist etc problems.Dave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
