Dec-09-01, 11:36 PM (EST) "Oh Sh** !! Bridge problems..." LAST EDITED ON Dec-09-01 AT 11:46 PM (EST)I downloaded the Wooden Trestle Set by Ray Reese. I put together several parts to from a bridge over a dry creek bed on my route. The bridge looks great. However when I tested the spur line and went over the bridge I realized that I overlooked something as the bridge wouldn't support the engine.
Could someone please steer me to the solution. I have searched for a answer, but did not find anything. Thanks in advance.BoomerPS. I don't know if I uploaded the jpg correctly, but the picture is to show a engine on the bottom of a dry creek bed and the wooden trestle standing in front of the engine.

Dec-10-01, 01:02 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Oh Sh** !! Bridge problems..." LAST EDITED ON Dec-10-01 AT 01:09 AM (EST)Rich I read your post and nearly fell out of my chair laughing... Yes, I put the bridge sections in the reference file as bridge sections not as track sections. I needed the laugh, thank you However I remember someone posting a picture of the same wooden trestle with a seagul on the tresle as a train passed over the bridge. I remember being able to see the bridge and rails clearly without the ballist from the tracks in MSTS that I am familiar with. This maybe a dumb question, but are their track sections with out the ballist? I haven't seen them, but that would be the answer.Boomer

Dec-10-01, 08:14 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Oh Sh** !! Bridge problems..." I'm the one with the seagull on the bridge! I couldn't figure a way to put a white splotch under the gull though! The rails on the bridge are so the real rails show up, the track becomes transparent over objects like this. Put your track across the stream. Then assemble your trestle parts on a level spot nearby, so they are all level and perfectly aligned. (this is all assuming it is on straight track). Now select the first section, hold the control key down and select each other section. Now you can move the whole thing as one piece. Get it close to where it needs to be, then use the numeric keypad arrows, with either the , up-down-sideways or rotate motion selected, to get it perfect. If you hit the H key to line it up with the ground, all parts will separate to follow the contours. On curve, this thing is a serious pain!Steve Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-10-01, 10:01 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Oh Sh** !! Bridge problems..." *Pointing to the guy above* He's the one with the seagull! He probably did what I did and made the detail level for the bridge to the highest detail level, 10 I think. I think you then have to tell the player to turn down their detail setting MSTS 1 notch so anything with a detail 10 is invisible. I think that's how it's done.Hope this helps! Dec-10-01, 01:22 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Oh Sh** !! Bridge problems..." Thanks Steve and Rich, I appreciate your help and with the new pointers Iam sure I'll figure it out. I'll attempt to post a picture of the completed trestle to let you see what I've been working on.Rich I hope my earlier reply wasn't offensive, I guess I was kind of punchy when I read your post.Boomer Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
