Dec-06-01, 05:12 PM (EST) "customizing my route" Hi. When the Train Simulator starts, it shows a random picture of a locomotive, as follows:
besides, when I choose a route in "Drive a Train" option, the simulator shows a picture and a brief description, as follows:
When I press the "Map" link, the game shows me a map of the chosen route, as follows:
Finally, when the game is loading, it presents the same picture of the chosen route, as follows:
The questions are:How can I customize these photos in order to this appears the images of my locomotives and the maps of my routes? How can I add a brief description of my route when I choose my own route, in the "Drive a Train" option?

Dec-08-01, 09:21 AM (EST) 1. "RE: customizing my route" LAST EDITED ON Dec-08-01 AT 09:29 AM (EST)Hi,The description of the route is in the .trk file in the root of the route folder. You can edit it manually with a Unicode sensitive editor, but a better way is to open the route in the Route Editor. After the route is displayed, choose Route>Properties. After description, you see a button "Edit" and that opens the description of the route. For the little photo, you must have an .ace with the same name as the route. You can convert a .bmp file with makeace to an .ace file. For the loading screen, you need a load.ace. For the details screen a details.ace. You find examples of these in the default route folders. The "Photo's" on the starting screen are .ace files, you find them in the Gui\Screens folder.

Dec-10-01, 10:49 AM (EST) 4. "RE: customizing my route" But when I see the photo in a .ace viewer, this one says that is a .ace file of 800x600. See this:
How can it be if the files cannot be generated greater than 512x512? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
