Dec-06-01, 06:58 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Just looking for a Progress Report. " I just got hold of some WP Engineering Department Track Charts which has some really useful stuff. Detailed track profile, milepost locations, signals etc. It even covers culverts and hotbox detectors.
So I'm backtracking a bit and correcting some obvious flaws I didn't know about earlier. I'll post some screenshots when I have something new....
NallePS. rdamurphy - I sent you a mail. Did you get it? Seems like some of my mails have gone missing in cyberspace lately (or no-one wants to have anything to do with me anymore!) Might have something to do with the latest virus thing? DS. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-06-01, 08:52 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Just looking for a Progress Report. " I have put down about 30 miles of my 106 mile route, recreating the Louisville and Indiana Railroad. No scenery yet, but I do have DEMed landscape. The route does feature realistic grades based on track profile maps.I have set up a home page for my route design within my railfan site for the Louisville and Indiana:http://www.lircrailfan.netBrian LaVelle Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-06-01, 10:29 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Just looking for a Progress Report. " I have completed the mainline of the CSX, Kingsport Sub., but have not added anything to it yet. At the moment, I am adding the Fremont and Haysi branches, and plan to add the other branches as they existed about 1990. Next project will be the Blue Ridge Sub., then the Mainline Sub., Louisville to Nashville.J. H. Sullivan, P.E. (retired from CSX) Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

A third member of this forum is learning the Route Editor in order to do the stretch of the Rio Grande from the west end. We're sort of planning to all meet at Dotsero, if we live long enough. <G> Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-06-01, 02:51 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Just looking for a Progress Report. " The Crawford Hill route made some progress last weekend - pretty much completed the town of Crawford and re-aligned some track at Belmont. Crawford has every visible structure in the proper position, however I'm only using the stock structures so its not really right. I have a video of the entire run from the rear of a track geometry car so I'm trying to go for photo-accurate. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-06-01, 03:51 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Just looking for a Progress Report. " I've been working on the Union Pacific line between Wamsutter and Grainer, Wyoming. I have placed a lot of the track, but wonder if anyone might be able to help me with the accuracy of the track placement, ie, the Green River yard and various mine spurs. I have been using TopoUSA 3.0, but notice quite a few differences between the TopoUSA and TerraServer images. I anyone has suggestions I would certainly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance,Boomer Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
