Or making a working turntable..
Or sticking to "one-way" activities and hope for an improvement in a future version...
Or checking out TrainZ which apparently, according to what some people have said, has very simplified operations - i.e. few or noe signals among other things - so possiby they have found a way to make circular routes as well? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Actually you can make any track configuration in Trainz that you desire, and it accepts it unlike other products But in Trainz the easiest way to turn the train around is by using one of the WORKING turntables that are included with the game.

Dec-02-01, 07:23 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Return loops" Well 2 ways:
a. Loop
b. WyeThese are well documented in this forum. I do not know the exact threads but if you use the search function you find a lot of data about them.André Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-02-01, 07:41 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Return loops" LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-01 AT 07:45 AM (EST)This link shows a screenshot of a Wye, in case your not familiar with them.
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID7/582.htmlIn that post, above the screenshot, I stated that a Wye was the only way. That is incorrect, as stated in the above post. A reverse loop will give you the ability, as well, but in my experiance, a Wye is easier to build.Hawk"And it comes to be, that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, is just a freight train coming your way." Dec-02-01, 09:39 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Return loops" I've reverse engineered a couple of wyes based on those in the Marias Pass route, and the only dynamic track I needed was a straight section to fill in the straight leg. No curve in it was needed. Otherwise I just used left and right 10degree switches and a bunch of matching endpoint pieces, along with the wye switch itself. Really easy to do. Dec-02-01, 05:12 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Return loops" You can make a compact wye requiring no dynamic track at all. Just use three wye switches all connected with 10 degree matching curved track. Use ONLY left or right, it doesn't matter, but not both. Bill Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-09-01, 02:33 PM (EST) 13. "RE: Return loops" Actually Euston i have made Several Wheys... and no need for Dynamic track, use the 10endpntlft, rgt (The ones you use when you use the 10pntrgt, lft switches. and it works everytime.

Dec-08-01, 06:22 PM (EST) 11. "RE: Return loops" You can make a loop if you include a siding into it. Msts does not support plain round loops on their own but you can trick it if you include 2 points and a siding. Sometimes you don't even need the siding, just the points. Dec-10-01, 11:39 PM (EST) 14. "RE: Return loops" Here is a loop with a point. You don't even need the siding, just one point (switch).Message Areas - "Return loops" – image 5The red line indicates the end of a switch. The only blue line here is at the turnoff end of the switch, not in the loop. Can't make it any simpler. MSTS 'does' support circular routes, you just have to get smart with it and let it know who's the boss Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
