Nov-29-01, 08:03 PM (EST) "Has anyone else had the same problem as me?" I noticed that the Central wisconsin route had been downloaded more that 500 times. Has anyone else had the TRAIN WORLD INITIALIZATION FAILED box pop up? I was finally able to download the whole file again, but sure enough, theres the box again. Could someone help me out. Maybe someone who fixed the error? THANX Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-29-01, 08:31 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Has anyone else had the same problem as me?" I downloaded with no problem, but on startup it couldn't find the shapes for the 7tank series. It ran OK, but I had to acknowledge about 10 error messages before the game started. I manually installed them and their .ace files and it runs fine. Never saw the error you describe.Bill Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-29-01, 11:02 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Has anyone else had the same problem as me?" Ok, I finally got it. I'm wondering how you manually placed the files for the missing tanks. Could you maybe elaborate for me on how you did it? Thanx Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-30-01, 10:45 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Has anyone else had the same problem as me?" Bill,I apologize for that error. I was having trouble with winter textures for the tanks, and since I only used them a few times, I just deleted them. Unfortunately, I forgot to delete them from the .ref file. It's interesting that you got the error messages when running the game. I tested the zip file on my computer, and didn't encounter any problems just running the game. I didn't see the error messages about the tanks until I tried to run the editor a couple days later. Then, as you say, I had to manually click through a bunch of error messages, but then it opened OK. In another interesting point, it seems to have automatically deleted those lines from my .ref file. I went back to edit it later (to correct the problem), and couldn't find the lines.WP713 - I wonder if this relates to the "initialzation failed" message you keep getting. The tanks we're refering to are Enocell's Storage Tanks (enotnks1.zip). They're available for download from the file area, and it's a pretty small file. The readme file that comes with them tell's you how to install them. Of course, if this is the problem, the easier way to fix it would be to edit the Reedsburg.ref file and delete the lines for the tanks. They should be at the beginning or end of the file. (Sorry I forget which, and I'm not at my MSTS comp right now.) They should be pretty obvious since they all contain "7tank" in the name. If you delete those lines (make sure you delete all the related parentheses) that should eliminate any problems associated with my deletion of the tanks. Make sure you open the .ref file with Wordpad.Hope this helps.Steve

Dec-01-01, 02:24 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Has anyone else had the same problem as me?" Steve!I downloaded your route tonight!!!Way cool!I really like the "Openess" feel to it.Although there isn't alot of scenery,I still enjoy notching out the throttle in my sd70macs and my 100 unit bethgons!Just thought I'd let ya know, the only problem I had was in the dos window where it asked me about which directory the ???file was supposed to go...key "d",or key "F".I pressed d key, nothing happened, then f key...nothing happened, then d again, and walla! It worked.I'm running windows ME.I'm really lookin forward to the add-on scenery in the future.Although I do have some expierence with the route editor.I've already added "Greenery" to other routes I've installed.Nice job on the route by the way...It is efinately different from all the others. Thanks Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
