Nov-26-01, 11:32 AM (EST) "A Tree GROWS in Chippewa Falls or, Hack those trees!" I wanted a few bigger trees!! So I took NickF's shape file for a 40' x 30" log, and reskinned it with Fir Bark, added 2 tree8's and topped it with a talltreesingle. That's a talltreesingle next to it!
Message Areas - "A Tree GROWS in Chippewa Falls or, Hack those trees!" – image 1 Most of you know this, but for those who don't, when you put something like this together, you can use the select, and then hold down control, to select each part, hit control C, then past the whole combined tree to another spot by clicking on the place object icon, position the x, then hit control V.Steve Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I have that TSM now and some ideas for some scenery for a logging road. Need some BIG trees... no self-respecting lumberjack would cut down that dinky stuff in the sim right now. I 'member when I was a lil feller down on Main street in Raymond (Washington west coast) when we'd have a string of log trucks come in. First was a truck groanin' along with ONE log on it; so heavy the tires was flattening out. Next some more with ONE log on them; usually starting to get a little smaller. Finally you'd see some more trucks with TWO logs on 'em, one biggie and one little one. Those logs in those days were about 10 to 12 feet thick and 250 to 300 feet tall. Those WERE the days. So, are you modeling that area, the So. Bend branch of the NP? Or maybe the Milwaukee, with it's car ferry to So. Bend. I'd really like to do the Moclips branch out of Hoquiam. I've got quite a few photos that might help your modeling, in fact, I just used a shot of "The Peoples Store" in Francis WA to reskin the stock US2LargeShop.
