The problem with the route editor is that I dont know how to bring up curve, straight, and left & right switches. I dont want to alter and scenery just add track. How do I do it. Im not a gee whizz like

Where's my spoon, I gotta give this new guy all the info I had to learn the hard way. Rats, the doggone thing must be busted, there's no way to spoon feed newbies yet.
Seriously (rare for me) there ain't any real whiz kids here, the route editor is so incredibly stupid that MENSA has declared it a disaster area, and all it's members are forbidden to use it. And the help files are helpless too. As far as laying track,
Note the warning for all the editors, make sure your mental health insurance is up to date.
Click on a piece to select it, then right click, up pops a box telling you what it is. Hit the delete key to delete it, open the object selector;
to find track sections to paste. I learned by doing, bought a spiral notebook from Walgreens and pasted a bunch of A1t500r10ds and A1t1500r20ds and A1tendpnt10drts and so forth down, then took notes on what all that meant. If you browse thru the misc and utilities section of the file library (when it's working again) somebody made a list of track sections, and it would also be a good idea to buy Mike Vone's route building guide if you would rather spend 15 bucks instead of the next 3 months doing trial and error or searching thru the archives for answers.
Good luck, you'll need it. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

My suggestion is to add anything off of a siding rather than a mainline track.Bob S Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
