Nov-25-01, 04:25 AM (EST) "Mileposts and speedlimits" LAST EDITED ON Nov-25-01 AT 04:26 AM (EST)Hello,I just started working with the route editor. I got the abacus pdf file for route designing. Now I want to add mileposts and speedlimits. It's showed in the manual how to do that, but I still have a small question. On the properties of both mileposts and speedlimits you can enter the miles and speeds. So can I use a speed limit sign also as a milepost for the windos in MSTS (F4) that shows the route ahead? And of course the other way around. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Mileposts and speedlimits" Hi,When you read the techdocs that come on CD1, you will discover that a speedpost and a milepost are internally treated as the same object. So yes you can "hang" speeds on mileposts, IMHO.Dick van den Hoven Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-25-01, 11:20 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Mileposts and speedlimits" In my experience, the speed limit option of the default milepost will not show trackside in MSTS: use the speed limit signs instead.I am not sure whether the other way round works (using a speed limit sign to post mileage).Michael Vone

Nov-28-01, 09:14 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Mileposts and speedlimits" On the subject of speed limits:I've downloaded Kern Pegg's Route That Wasn't and started developing the route. As I recall, my ruling grade is 1.5% max. Now, when I created a test activity to run trains over my newly-laid track, I notice that the F4 screen (Train Operations?) shows a Limit of 37 MPH. I have put down no speed limits in the route, so how did the MSTS AI come up with that? In the route setup I specified 60 MPH as max and 15 MPH as restricted limits. How do I change that 37 MPH?Thanks.Lew

Nov-29-01, 01:49 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Mileposts and speedlimits" It sounds like the speed limit is specified as 60 kph instead of 60 mph in the route properties. <60 kph = 37.3 mph> Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
