Nov-23-01, 01:29 PM (EST) "Micro-dem tutorial?" I was just wondering if there is a micro-dem tutorial out there in the shareware category? I have the dem tutorial but i've heard that I have to use micro-dem first. I don't know what exactly micro-dem does. It's freeware.As a TrainSim user I use about 2 percent of its functions; those being the Merge DEM's function to combine multiple quad DEM files into a single DEM file that covers my entire route, and the Export XYZ function to create an XYZ file from that DEM that JohnCS's DEM Extractor uses as input to stuff the DEM data into my world tiles.There are a bunch of threads on this site that detail these processes.Don't sweat the rest of the functions in MicroDEM.Nick Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

XYZMerge automatically accesses MicroDem, which means that *you* don't have to.All the files you need to efficiently process DEM data into MSTS tiles can be found at http://sd40.topcities.com.Realize that XYZMerge needs a specific file that is not included in the archive. I cannot remember the name of it. If you have VB6 installed, it will work first time out of the chute. I need someone who does not have VB6 installed to try to run it and then let me know what the file name is.
