Nov-22-01, 08:19 AM (EST) "New red line in Route Geometry Extractor?" Hi.It is possible to add a new route, as a red line, in the Route Geometry Extractor tool? I need this, to create a route that is not in the RGE. The image shows what I need to do. The blue line is the route that is not in the RGE.

AS far as I know that red line doesn't have to be there to build your route.I'm sure there's lots of lines that's not on there that you can build but I dont know for sure.I haven't read anywhere that you can't build the route if the red line is not on the map, as long as you have the dems for that area and you are in the same area when you create your area in the extractor then you should be aright. Nov-22-01, 04:09 PM (EST) 2. "RE: New red line in Route Geometry Extractor?" thats right - the vector lines are only there to give you an idea where existing railways are - you can extract whatever tiles you want - doesn't matter if they have the red lines in them or not.Cheers

Inside RGE, there is a dialog box for converting .gen files to .vec files. As to what the attributes of the .gen file are or where they may be found on the Internet is another story.Having that information could make route creation much easier. I think that data could be used for the basis of creating marker files.Once again, Kuju's documentation spells it all out, NOT!Shame on you, Kuju!
