Last I heard Bob was pretty close to finishing up with the signals. The route editor bugs bit him pretty bad with a few corrupted tiles that had to be replaced.I have one remaining steep grade to fix that I missed the first time round and a few other minor problems to fix.I am hoping to have it released before Christmas.Paul Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-22-01, 03:16 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Status of Marias Pass Version 3 Final??" As Paul said, I was almost done. I went to fix some things on the Kalispell branch and found an assortment of object floating, upside down, above the route. After replacing those tiles (5) and rebuilding the track database, NONE of the signals worked. They did things, but they acted like they were backwards. So, I had to delete every one of the suckers and reinstall them. I'm now running some activities to test and hope to send the results to Paul before the weekend is over. Funny thing is, up until that point, I hadn't hit any problems with the route editor messing things up, other than memory leaks. Just when you think it is safe to come out... Nov-26-01, 05:50 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Status of Marias Pass Version 3 Final??" Bob,
Since it's that time of year to give, how about posting a PO Box
or something so those of us who really enjoy the fruits of your
labor can send a little something along to you guys for all of
the hard work you've put in "debugging" and improving this fine
product? Despite all of the complaints MS did put out a very
flexible product which has taken on a life of its own with all
the addons and upgrades. I suppose if it was made too easy
then we wouldn't need hard working guys like you and Paul
to give us these great upgrades.HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~ DAV

Nov-26-01, 09:52 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Status of Marias Pass Version 3 Final??" While I appreciate the offer, I think your hard earned money could be better spent elsewhere. I undertook my revisions to learn about the product and make a more useful route. Along the way I've learned more than I thought I would about signals, about how MSTS works with them (or doesn't as the case may be), and I've heard from people around the world. Just about everyone has been very supportive and encouraging, not to mention patient. That's good enough for me!Then Paul decided to tackle the one thing I didn't want to try, the grading and related modifications, making a good thing even better.I've just put the CD of my part of 3.0 in the mail to Paul, so we're on the way! I'm continuing testing with various activities and so far am really happy with the results. Just a few more weeks, and I think you guys will be happy with it too. Nov-27-01, 01:03 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Status of Marias Pass Version 3 Final??" I agree with Bob. The only ones I would take money from would be Microsoft/Kuju if they wanted to include the route in a patch or future version of MSTS (like that would ever happen).
