Nov-19-01, 08:09 AM (EST) 3. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" Looks like Abacus sucks at updating their webpage...
That and the fact that the F9 in their pack looks to be the older 1.9 version in stead of the recent 2.0 version, despite the fact that it is a _commercial_ add-on, has reduced my enthusiasm for this add-on quite a bit... Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-19-01, 08:57 AM (EST) 4. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" I've stated before, that apart from some minor tweaks (very minor, I might add), that there's little - if any - noticable difference between v1.9 and 2.0. The v2.0 skins will work on the LTV F9's, as the LTV skins will work with every one of our later F's. No offence, but I designed the whole lot - I think I should know what's inside, eh? If you can spot the difference then you have better eyes than I! 8o)Cheers!

Nov-19-01, 10:23 AM (EST) 5. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" Hmm..
It may well be my eyes that are fooling me - but from the screenshots I've seen it looked like the LTV F9 had the opaque windows from the 1.9 version and not the see-through windows with added cab details from the 2.0 version - but if the LTV F9 can easily be "upgraded" to include that, then that doesn't really matter, of course..
Still, Abacus should really state on their website that the LTV Route still is in development and that the release of the LTV mining trainset has been put back further... Disinformation usually hurts business far more than changed releas dates... Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-19-01, 11:01 AM (EST) 6. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" Well, I was about to raise my hand and shout "sign me up, please!!!" Unfortunately, I do not know how to work the actvity editor. I suppose that I could learn though, and I DO have a little basic knowledge about how this place actually operated. Hmmmmm..............Don Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-19-01, 03:27 PM (EST) 11. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" Perhaps it's the screen shots that are out of date - first ones went to Abacus in early August. The final (as shipped to Abacus) has the same transparent windows and viewable interior as the current F at 3DTrains.Cheers!

Nov-19-01, 01:17 PM (EST) 7. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" No, the TrainSet was released for Shipping as stated on the Abacus site. It advertises there the route will be availble to all registered users. I ma happy to say ..it will and we are near completion now. So we are looking a week give a day or two before it can also be obtained. Here is a quote from the Abaus advertisement
"The Mainline RouteHoyt Lakes to Taconite HarborBONUS - Users of LTV_Erie Mining Company Trainset are eligible to receive the mainline route from Hoyt Lakes to Taconite Harbor with return of the included registration card. "
We could have distributed a route with the CD but we had descided to go with the full LTV route meaning all 74.2 miles of it, and to give more attention to terrain detailing and texturing. Thus it behooved us to do it this way. So it has been advertised this way from the very start of the LTV being advertised onthe Abacus site. We are doing this for the benifit for the community as we want to have the same standard in our route building as in our Trains.I hope this helped youThanx

Nov-19-01, 01:35 PM (EST) 8. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" So in other words the person on one of these forums that said that the release date was pushed back to the 30th of November was talking #####..
Or, more correctly, the store clerk that told this person that the release date had been further put back, was talking #####..
My apologies then, to Abacus publishing Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-19-01, 02:08 PM (EST) 9. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" On behalf of Abacus publishing...No Harm Done. I would like to add one other note for all that might be interested. The LTV ROoute package will in fact have TWO routes not just one. LTV minning is made up of Two ROutes. They have a Mainline Route and a Work Route. We are including both.Mainline ROute is 74.2 miles of track. In reality it is more than that. Heres how it works. Its 74.2 miles from Knox Depot to Taconite Harbor. At knox Depot though, we go beyond it to the Pellet plant, down into maintenance Yard and its buildings. You will be able to go to the Concentrator through areas of the Parking Lots that take you to the Coarse Crusher on its lower level.
Then on the Second ROute; Whish is 20.3 + miles long it also goes from SUper Pcoket through the Coarse Crusher on the Upper Level through tunnels that take you in and through the massive Building, to yet another pocket where you pick up another load and return to the Coarse Crusher.....from there you can go down and into the Yard as you can from the Mainline, if you want then take the mainline for a cruise or what ever your imagination brings ThanxMark Branscum

Nov-19-01, 02:27 PM (EST) 10. "RE: LTV ROUTE Beta Testing now open" Are these two routes connected in some way? In that case, could it be possible to join them together into one with some clever route editing? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
