Nov-13-01, 05:44 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Deming Part of the Montana Division" Just be aware that MapTech, like any other service that provides 1:24,000 topographical maps, does not show the correct number of tracks. In fact, it isn't a service like MapTech, per se, but the topographical maps!In other words, in Delta Yard, Everett, Washington, USA, the north end has 13 tracks that are used for making consists. I have not found a topographical map yet that shows all 13 tracks. Usually, half. Therefore, whereas topographical maps will show sidings (for the most part), it may not show the number of tracks.Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-13-01, 10:12 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Deming Part of the Montana Division" Hey guys:Just to let you know about a tool I use to aid in this type of work. Terraserver has satellite images up to 1m resolution of the entire US.You can access these USGS images @ terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.comJust for kicks, I pulled up the image they had for Sweetgrass, Montana. You can *clearly* make out the tracks, spurs, strings of covered hoppers, and the locations of the grain elevators. This could be just the thing your looking for. =)Brad Kostelny
