Nov-13-01, 05:35 PM (EST) 4. "RE: ROUTE BLANKS?" At this point I've only installed the Stony River route blank I think. The problem I have is that there are little white squares at patterned intervals over the terrain. I've seen this before and I think even read about what causes them (they're actually one square in each 'grid-block' of squares, typically at the northwest corner if you turn on the grid in the route designer)I would/could start to detail the terrain if I knew how to eliminate those white squares. Any help?billres0958z@verizon.net Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-14-01, 06:19 AM (EST) 7. "RE: ROUTE BLANKS?" Isn't this the old "having to reset tile ceiling height of every tile" problem? Check out this post (item 14)

Nov-14-01, 05:03 PM (EST) 8. "RE: ROUTE BLANKS?" Select any square in the tile, right click, and set the tile height. Just accept the cvalues already there. That fixed them for me on the Stony River DEM. I've been working on a fictional route using that DEM.
Here are a couple of shots from that route.Message Areas - "ROUTE BLANKS?" – image 2

Nov-13-01, 06:56 PM (EST) 5. "RE: ROUTE BLANKS?" Well, I have them all. Wouldn't part with them. It's nice to have terrain already done. I haven't been able to make the DEM files work yet. Too compli for this ol' dawg.

Nov-15-01, 04:52 AM (EST) 9. "RE: ROUTE BLANKS?" I Downloaded the route that wasn'tI followed the instructions using USA2 objects (any other route results in too many missing objects, there was still a lot of objects from the JP2 route needed copying as well!) when I loaded the route into the editor it reported a track database error. I used the advanced setting and asked for a database rebuild. Finally the route began to load. It gave several errors about missing signal blocks and tracks but on the fourth attempt it finally loaded. I scrolled around the landscape which caused more errors to pop up about missing objects. Unfortunately the tracks already laid have caused cuttings and embankments so they would have to be repaired if the tracks were removed. The scenery looked good around the waterlines of the lakes and rivers but there were several troughs running through the landscape making it look like a chocolate bar in places. I decided that I wouldn't use the route as there was too much work involved in undoing the errors and track already done. Even after saving the track database still refused to load and I had to start again. This doesn't mean I'm disappointed, it was good of cheesman to provide the route for free and it was the first DEM route I had a chance to edit and explore. Once the download section is running better I may give the Stony River a go as it is a truly blank route.Terry Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
