Oct-09-01, 07:31 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Turn table" Unfortunately, you can’t make the turntable turn, but you can give it the illusion of functionality and also provide the capability of actually using the storage tracks.Message Areas - "Turn table" – image 1

GP-38's move the crane

GP-38's cross the turntable to the empty track. All storage tracks are actually connected and active. They are bridged across the turntable pit with invisible track sections. The visible crossing section is also active.
See my September posts “Track Magic” and “More Track Magic” to see how to get these effects. You can actually drive across the turntable and place rolling stock on the storage tracks. Using the techniques described you could also make an invisible compact wye to turn engines around to complete the illusion.Bill

Thanks for the idea, I was never any good at lateral thinking!
I have to say that this looks like and incredible way of solving the problem.
Once again, many thanks.

Oct-10-01, 12:13 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Turn table" No, the track is not hidden by the terrain. It is actually made invisible.See http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/1516.html for more information on the technique used.Bill Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
