Oct-03-01, 01:23 PM (EST) "Interactive Objects?????" On the route I'm building, I've placed a fuel point, a water point and a coal point. So far they all work to fill up the trains fuel levels.
However while working with the pickup objects, I notice that there were several others like an interactive gravel loader. However I can't seem to get this object to work. I've set the values for it, made sure it was full, but it still does nothing. What are these objects for, and how do you use them, or are they there only for decoration???? Oct-03-01, 02:28 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Interactive Objects?????" I have not got this object in my ref file but I have seen it,this is a gray area right now,I found the turntable that is just for looks in whitefish has a .sms file in the sound folder but I am not a hacker,so these interactive/pickup things must be the trump card for MS/KUJU,just like lionel offered unloading gravel cars, and log cars, and milk cars, they must have something in mind for them in the future,if there is a way to beat them to it I hope someone here can.An activity where backing empties in at 5 miles an hour loading hoppers from a gravel loader to some would be boring, but that is as real as it gets! Oct-03-01, 02:38 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Interactive Objects?????" Yes indeed, infact I was hoping to make an activity where you had to fill 20-30 hopper cars and then push them onto a siding to assemble a train ready to go. Doesn't appear to work though. I wonder if you would have to edit the .wag file for the hopper car and include a "fuel" point so that it will accept stuff from the gravel loader????James. From the eng and wag file tech docs, you can specify size and positions of fuel intakes.
"Type can be:
FreightGrain
FreightCoal
FreightGravel
FreightSand
FuelWater
FuelCoal
FuelDiesel
SpecialMail"
This implies that you can make specify a wagon to be fillable with, say, grain..question is, do any of the routes have anything to pick up? Are there any working coal towers or grain elevators out there? (it would explain the action event "make a pickup" available in the activity editor)
---------------
Does this help? I have a question for you, maybe you can answer it. I found a fuel point at Whitefish (Marias Pass route), but it doesn´t show up in the activity editor. When I try to take fuel, the hose moves (at pressing and holding down T), but the fuel doesn´t come out? What is going wrong?
