Sep-22-01, 03:04 AM (EST) "Vanishing track phenomenon" Hi All,Just been working on my route, finished my stint of track laying for the session so I decided to back-track (no pun intended) over what I'd done to check it out. About 3/4 of a mile back a section of track had disappeared, I thought I must have accidently buried it under the ground, so I try to select it to 'Y' the ground. All I got was a message saying 'could not find adjacent track section'. So I quickly exit the editor, and go to check to route out from the 'driver's eye' in the sim, what do I find? - all the track is exactly where I put it! No gaps or unexpected de-railments any where!Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon and know what it means or what causes it? And, more importantly, will to have any effect when I return to the editor?Cheers,BillPS I've not backed this one up yet just in case I find out here that the file has been corrupted somehow! Sep-22-01, 05:11 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Vanishing track phenomenon" You may want to 'rebuild the track database' in order to fix that 'adjacant track section not found'. It may make a mess of other things however(for me I had to remake all the dynamic track pieces).Oh and, do it at your own risk. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Sep-22-01, 05:51 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Vanishing track phenomenon" Tried that! Got the track back, but lost a 'signal-head' and then got the following message - unable to save track database, trltem table may be corrupted - or something like that! So I've shelved that copy of the route fot the mo and am working on a previously backed-up version! Thanks,Bill Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Sep-22-01, 08:55 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Vanishing track phenomenon" I've had a similar thing happen with dynamic track. Save what you have, and SAVE OFTEN. Exit and restart the MSTS Tools. This clears it up for me. I try to save every other section of track I put down. You never know when a strange bug will hit. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
