Sep-21-01, 06:29 PM (EST) "Track section help" If you build a route that has two tracks and you wish to put an island platform at a station, how can you create curved track at each end of the platform without using dynamic track? Jeffrey. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Sep-21-01, 07:10 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Track section help" There are numerous instances of what you describe in the 2 Europe routes (or Japan 1 & 2). Open one of these routes in the route editor and see what track sections are used. Select the individual sections (wireframe) and right-click the mouse. It will give you the properties of that track section. Look at each piece and the platform itself and you will see what sections match specific platforms.Basically you use an A1EndPnt section, either 5 or 10 to curve out, then use the same section flipped to straighten the track out. Do the opposite at the other end and the tracks will come back together. There was an earlier post about a similar request. It had pictures to show what you ask. Try searching back in the archives. It was about 2 weeks ago.Good luck!Bill Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Sep-22-01, 06:27 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Track section help" I found out that when I use dynamic track sections to make custom curved track, the dialog box for dynamic track doesn't let me enter values that have more precision. For example: I want to enter 164.064 for radius but the dialog box only lets me enter 164.06 for radius. If I can enter 164.064 instead of 164.06, the joint between dynamic track sections and regular track sections would be better. I'm not sure if I can edit the TSECTION.DAT file. Jeffrey. Sep-22-01, 08:24 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Track section help" I use two of the same radius curves to make an s curve that allows me to place a platform in the middle of two tracks, then the same 2 curve pieces at the end - and it seemed to work well
and if you use the correct pieces it connects fine at the other endi think that is what you were talking aboutJason Webb

Sep-22-01, 09:11 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Track section help" Jason, I ran trains on a few routes that came with MSTS and on the Tokyo-Hakone Railway route, they used four pieces of A1EndPnt10dLft and A1EndPnt10dRgt sections at "express" stations with two island platforms. Which route has stations with single island platform between two tracks? Jeffrey. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
