Sep-15-01, 09:40 AM (EST) "Route idea ... great model railroads" While I'm still in the beginning stages of learning route design myself as I attempt to create a portion of the DT&I Railroad in northwestern Ohio I've heard that someone is working on a Gorre and Dephetid based route and I've a couple ideas for routes that I'd really like to see.1.) Allen McClelland's Virginian & Ohio
either the portion he modeled or an extended version.2.) Tony Koester's Allegeheny MidlandAny thoughts?David Mikulec

"RE: Route idea ... great model railroads" In response to your original message,I had the same idea and even mentionined the Virginian & Ohio on the 12th, of september, page three of messages,as someone is allready building the venerable Gorre & Dephetid railroad,which inspired the entire hobby of model railroading. It was too bad, I did not get a very positive response and felt that honoring those that inspired me,with thier realism in scenery, painting, lettering, structures, kitbashing, and operations, will be "Down the Road" when routes will essentially be "Boring" and the community wants More. There are only so many routes one can look at and then become thirsty for a difference, and there are only so many locomotives you will want to run on the wrong railroad before you want to seek the development of your own particular favorite.
