Doing this we can help the other mates who have problems with *colecting DEMs from Internet*.These 19 DEMs (24k , elevation in meters) ,

available at "http://uk.briefcase.yahoo.com/superspeeduk";The altitude is between 1450 m and 2850.What you have to do is :1.To MERGE all 19 DEMs
2.Export into XYZ file the new DEM which you just created and...

Sep-15-01, 04:18 AM (EST) 2. "RE: 19 DEM files *ready to be downloaded* for all !!! " ...No problem1.Merge all 19 Dem files:
a)start Microdem (available at http://www.usna.edu/Users/oceano/pguth/website/microdem.htm)b)click "IN/OUT" ,here click MERGE then choose Dems ,now a new window shows up ;now you must to browse all 19 Dems files (you should know where is their location).Double click on the first dem file (doesn't matter the order,what is important is that you must to include all of them);do the same with the rest .After you opened the last Dem , click CANCEL ;Now a new window shows up
(you will be asked for saving the new Dem file you just created).Make sure that you will know the location of your new Dem because you will need it for the next step .Close Microdem.c)open Microdem,click "IN/OUT",here choose EXPORT then ASCII XYZ ,FULL DEM then UTM (in the submenu).Now you have to browse your DEM which you just created , click OPEN (now is generating) , then a new window shows up - you must now to save the ascii file (in XYZ triples)-,so name it then hit save.NOTE: when you read the Coordinates make sure in options , UNITS are -locations = LAT/LONG
-lat/long = decimal degrees How to read the Coordinates ?
1)open your Dem
2)in modify/maparea click keyboard corners
a)The first window shows NW coordinates (TOP-LEFT <=== )
b)The second window shows NE coordinates (TOP-RIGHT ===> )With these coordinates you can go forward with DEMex and it's tutorial.
