Sep-01-01, 09:36 PM (EST) "Hump Yard Version 2" Ok, I've put the Rockaway on hold while I work on my hump yard. No pics for you yet, but here's what I've got so far:A sizable hump with about ten lead tracks on the downhill side of it.A run around for cars you can't hump (Like most tankers)A switch lead for the Engine terminal.A switch Lead for the passenger yard, and car shops.A switch lead for the maintenance shops.Yeah, this thing is HUGE. Getting bigger by the day...but I still need to know if it'd be possible to set up a working hump...sadly, i've not got it to work right yet.Cars just STOP on the downhill side...and the length of the hump I'd need to get them running is just insane. Over a mile on the downhill side. That's not gonna work.In testing, i've also found that I'll have to ease the ramp up to the hump a bit. Even a Dash 9 was slipping if that tells you anything.
Well, I hope to clean up some of the bugs and get pics up soon.
Right now, I just need to know if there'd be a way to get the switches to randomly select. And if not, what y'all would like to see. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

( MSTS design flaw, or as Microsoft would say " This is a feature, as you do not have to worry about having the breaks on"Sam Schulenburg Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Sep-02-01, 09:22 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Hump Yard Version 2" well, cars do and don't roll.I've had several get stuck on my hump while doing tests to find broken points of track. (my dynamic track was driving me batty at one point.ATM, I'm messing with the hump height to see if that helps some; but too high and It'll just look silly.
any ideas short of releasing special cars to work in conjunction with it?
