Aug-29-01, 04:42 PM (EST) "Does anyone have any good routes that they've made?" Has anyone finished making a route. If so, can you tell me where to download it and what the route is. I prefer American routes, long routes, and subways, but any route will do. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-31-01, 10:16 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Does anyone have any good routes that they've made?" Manual for all switches to date, though I replaced most of the mainline switches with automatic switches for the next version which is actually past due. Next chance I get on the computer I will finish it and ship it, but my roomate has been using the computer all this week. I'm not rich enough to afford my own computer yet :-P. Sep-01-01, 02:19 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Does anyone have any good routes that they've made?" Speaking of new routes what ever happened to the Rome Rails route. For a while it was looking like a damn good route that I was looking forward to even if it was in NS country, but I haven't seen anything of it since the last set of screenshots he posted in July. My own pet project is going to be a while in the making because I have to wait a couple of months until I have a decent ISP so I can redownload all of my DEM tools. I am working on the former WP Inside Gateway line from Keddie to Lookout Jct (now under BNSF control). I like doing my markers by taking coordinates from Map Blast I might loose a little accuracy but the loss of acuracy is measured in hundred thousandths of a degree and I get refrences for where exactly the track is. I've got the first 70 miles of track recorded for about 750 sets of coordinates, and I've still got another 50 miles to go but fortunately most of that is straight track unlike the first thirty miles. I figure since I got to wait to do the terrain I might as well do my research right so I figure I'll drive up along the route and get some good pictures. I figure if we just hold on a bit longer we'll soon have more routes available than we can shake a stick at. Its just the process takes so long to do right and good research takes a lot of time. Sep-01-01, 04:31 AM (EST) 8. "RE: Does anyone have any good routes that they've made?" What I'd love to see would be (in that order):1) The Swedish-Norwegian ore railroad ("Malmbanan") between
Kiruna and Narvik as well as to Lulea...some real serious
heavy hauling going on there!!!2) Any Shinkansen route (for Train911's Railstar )3) An extension of the NEC, and perhaps as a "backdated" version
where we could run the Empire State Express or the upcoming
GG-1 in a historically more accurate setting.I'd been thinking about making a freelance Shinkansen route myself, but found out I have nothing like the necessary time at this moment ...
Anybody happen to be working on one of these routes right now...?!D.M. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
