Aug-29-01, 03:27 PM (EST) "Route files between computers" If I edit a route by adding or removing trackside objects, signals or scenery objects, is it possible to move these changes to the same route on another computer? I'm not changing terrain or existing trackage.I edit on a desktop that can run the editor, and run the simulator on a laptop with better performance. If I can get away without wrapping up an entire route, in this case the USA2 route, it would be much apprecitated.Thank you,

Aug-29-01, 03:54 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Route files between computers" At some point, all of the files for a route will have to be copied to the second machine. After that, you can just move the files that are changed. For the most part, those will be files in the Tiles and World directories. There will also be some files in the "root" of the route.Of course, I don't know the full circumstances that you are working with, but this is what I do for backup.I have created a zipped file (compressed with WinZip) of the entire route. Everything. Then, periodically, I "freshen" and "update" the files. Freshen and updating only puts in new or updated files. If this can work for you, it is a viable solution. Then, after freshening and updating the zipped file, I would take it to the new computer and uncompress it. That way, I *know* I would have all the necessary files.Lawrence Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
