Aug-29-01, 00:32 AM (EST) "How to insert new piece of rail??" I have been creating a new mini-route (just as a learning experience at this stage). I have a single track - length a few miles - and I can drive down it. Now I want to put some branch lines off it -- obviously using a switch . Can somebody advise me how I go about removing a piece of track and inserting a manual switch in it.Thanks barry Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

At the risk of not being too 'technically' accurate and enumerating all the fine points of deleting trackwork, the way I do it is to select a piece of track, it will turn red, then press the delete key. Straight track shouldn't be that difficult; if you remove a 2000m piece, place the switch, then add a 1000m, a few 100m's and enough 10m's to close the gap. In my (limited) experience, they match up pretty well. I've done similar things with double track and switches, and had to come back and fill in gaps with a few 10m pieces, with no difficulty.HTH,
Dave
